WHAT: A live-streaming of State of Emergency
WHEN: Saturday, February 23 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm
WHERE: 4th floor Amphitheater, Rackham Graduate School
COST: Free!

This verbatim theater-style production draws its script from found material and interviews with public officials and residents of the City of Flint, where an emergency manager was appointed in 2011. It is the first play presented by Shop Floor Theatre Company, which Kendrick Jones and former Arts of Citizenship fellow Andrew Morton co-founded. The co-founders explain, "the aim of the project is to encourage the community to engage in a larger dialogue about the various issues that led to the appointment of an Emergency Manager and explore multiple perspectives on this controversial issue." Please join us for this vital conversation.

This event has been organized by Arts of Citizenship and the U-M Detroit School of Urban Studies, with co-sponsorship from the Urban and Regional Planning Program, the Center for Local, State, and Urban Policy (CLOSUP) at the Ford School, the Residential College, and the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies (DAAS).
