Faculty Support Funds

A gift of $2 million will endow a senior faculty professorship with tenure in the Ford School. Such an appointment is made by the Dean and commended to the University Board of Regents by the Provost and Chief Academic Officer. Endowed professorships are reserved for scholars of national and often international stature, who have made major contributions to the academic discipline of public policy and whose record of teaching, research, and publication is highly distinguished.

The Ford School currently has four fully endowed professorships:

  • Walter H. Annenberg Professorship of Education Policy, currently held by Professor Brian A. Jacob
  • J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Professorship of Public Policy
  • Allen Sinai Professorship of Macroeconomics, a joint appointment between the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and the Department of Economics in LSA
  • Gail Wilensky Professorship in Applied Economics and Public Policy, a joint appointment between the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and the Department of Economics in LSA

Also, Joan and Sanford Weill have provided for the fully endowed Joan and Sanford Weill Dean of Public Policy, one of only four named deanships at the University of Michigan.
