Graduate Student Instructors (GSIs) play an important role in the learning experience at the University of Michigan. At the Ford School, GSIs are generally in charge of facilitating discussions in small sections connected to large lecture courses and holding office hours where one-to-one teaching occurs. Responsibilities frequently include grading and giving feedback on students’ written work as well.
The majority of Ford School GSI positions are for graduate level classes. Current Ford School students will receive preference in the GSI application process for Ford School GSI positions.
GSI positions for Winter term positions are generally posted in mid-October.
GSI positions for Fall term positions are generally posted in mid-March.
