Robert M. and Susan Crumpacker Brown were presented with the David B. Hermelin Award for Fundraising Volunteer Leadership for their guidance and personal generosity. For 30 years the Browns have worked closely with leadership to support various colleges and units at the U-M, including the Ford School. Robert Brown also helped raise $3.2 billion for the university as the vice chair of The Michigan Difference campaign.

As residents of Kalamazoo, the Browns are spreading the word about the University of Michigan to the west side of the state. "Bob and I have enjoyed having dinners here and being advocates, and appealing to not just graduates, but friends of the university. I want everybody to be proud and everybody to feel welcomed to be a friend of the University of Michigan," said Susan Brown.
