Matthew Davis' survey of professionals who work with young people, which gives new evidence that minority children have fewer opportunities than white peers, is the focus of an Associated Press story titled, "Poll: Fewer opportunities seen for minority kids."
The survey, released today, polled 2,028 teachers, childcare providers, health care workers, social workers and law enforcement officials from all 50 states. These professionals rated their perceptions of life opportunities, mental and health care access and quality, treatment by law enforcement, and struggle with money for both minority and white youth.
This survey, sponsored by the Kellogg Foundation, is considered the first known national assessment of professionals who work with youth around the country.
