Jieun is interested in the political economy of trade policies in both the domestic and international arena. Prior to joining the PhD program, she worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea, Korea Institute of Public Finance, and the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy, where she developed her research interest in the inter-dynamics among governments, firms, and the world trading system. She has a BA in International Relations and a BBA in Business Administration from Ewha Woman’s University, South Korea. She also holds a MA in International Commerce from Seoul National University with Highest Honors. Most recently, she received an Master of Public Policy (2012) and Master of Economics (2014) from the University of Michigan.
