Shawn Martin is a joint Ph.D student in Economics and Public Policy and will be a trainee in the Predoctoral Training Program in Causal Inference in Education Policy Research. Shawn graduated from the University of California – San Diego with a B.S. in Economics and from Georgetown University with a M.S. in Mathematics & Statistics. While in D.C., she was a research assistant in the Education Division at SRI International and in the Economics Department at the Comptroller of the Currency. Prior to Georgetown University, Shawn worked as a classroom teacher, curriculum developer and teacher training instructor through a two-year fellowship with Teach for China. Her research interests include the determinants of teacher and school quality in urban school districts.
