Every 3rd Thursday of the month, we will be holding a Science Policy in the Afternoon Talk (SPAT) which is an informal discussion on relevant and timely science and technology policy topics. Dr. Friedman will be speaking about the federal program to stimulate "meaningful use" of health information technology through the HITECH act which was embedded in the Recovery Act of 2009. The government is expected to invest as much as $30 Billion in this program. Dr.
