Welcome new students! The official start of the school year, Welcome Week and Orientation (August 26–August 30) at the Ford School gives new students the opportunity to meet and engage with peers, faculty, and staff, and begin the process of preparing for the academic year. MPP/MPA Orientation Welcome Week helps students consider what it means to join a community like the Ford School and embark on a rigorous, professional degree path.

Free and open to the public. Title IX is widely known and has become synonymous in many Americans' minds with gender equity in sport. Yet, like any law, it is limited. Inequities continue inside and outside of sport--inequities that are beyond the direct legal reach of Title IX. Misunderstanding the limits of Title IX has an ironic effect. On the one hand, it can fuel a backlash that blames Title IX for problems associated with some men's sports.

This conference on the 'Long-run Impacts of Early Life Events,' brought together leading researchers to engage in a broad discussion of new findings and avenues for future research in this area. The conference featured paper and poster presentations from a range of scientific disciplines, including economics, demography, epidemiology, and human development. It was the third in a series of conferences examining the long-run impact of early life events and highlighting the importance of this emerging area of study.
