This is a core course restricted to Ford School students only.

This course covers descriptive statistics, probability theory, probability distributions (normal, binomial, chi-squared, F), sampling distributions, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing. It also includes an introduction to experimental design. The emphasis in the course is on preparing students to independently prepare basic statistical analysis. Some attention is paid to the mathematical underpinnings of statistical theory and to more technical aspects of statistical analysis. Students will learn to independently use statistical software.
