This course is meant for students who see themselves as change agents. The goal is to inspire you to make a long-term commitment to public service, while preparing you for the constant challenges you will need to overcome.

This is NOT a theoretical course: it is based on real scenarios when tough decisions had to be made and risky strategies had to be attempted.

We'll examine what worked and what didn't, and why. And students will be asked what they would do in these scenarios, and will focus in their written work on what approach they would take to an issue about which they feel passionately.

Among the subjects we'll consider are some of the toughest facing our country today: climate change, artificial intelligence, homelessness, police reform and the crisis of American education.
