Policy makers have long relied on quantitative analysis to inform their decision-making, and recent advances in data gathering and in computing have made quantitative analysis even more prevalent. The goal of this course is for students to be able to ask critical questions when presented with quantitative analysis and to help guide the quantitative analysis at policy organizations. Key topics include measurement, data collection, descriptive statistics, probability theory, statistical inference for different types of data, and significance testing.
