Anyone seeking to lead change through nonprofit, policy, or political work, needs to understand how to fundraise. While for many people, this can seem an unpleasant task, in fact good fundraising – one grounded in equity and community centric principles – helps you, when in partnership with communities, create new possibilities and effect real change.
In this mini-course, you will learn how ethical, effective fundraising, grounded in emerging fundraising models, makes possible your goals and aspirations grounded in emerging fundraising models. You will have first-hand experience developing fundraising collateral from an equity-based framework and engage with industry experts. Kat Walsh is the senior executive director of diversity, equity, and inclusion at the University of Michigan Office of Development and is the fundraising liaison to U-M's Vice Provost for Equity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer. She provides consulting services to non-profits and speaks on this topic at national conferences.
