This course focuses on what a practitioner needs to know about multiple regression analysis, a key tool for policy analysis. It is an introduction to econometrics that is less mathematical and theoretical than PUBPOL 571. It combines attention to the theoretical underpinnings of regression with attention to applications of regression to policy questions. Students will gain experience in running regressions using STATA. Prerequisite: PUBPOL 529 or equivalent. Students cannot receive credit for both PUBPOL 571 and PUBPOL 569.
