In this section, we will analyze the politics that affect foreign policy choices and the policies adopted by international organizations. We will study the U.S. foreign policy process and compare it to that of other political systems. We will examine the politics of the United Nations and some of its key subsidiary organs including the World Bank, Human Rights Council, and UN Environment Program. We will also explore briefly the dynamics of regional organizations such as the Organization of American States, Arab League and African Union. We will apply that learning to a series of complex real-world policy challenges. Examples may include the crisis on the Korean Peninsula, the conflict in Syria, migration in Central America, and disaster relief in East Africa and the Indian Ocean.
