Defense Intelligence Senior Executive Service (Retired) Colonel James T. (Tom) Faust will reflect on his career in the military and civilian service.
From the speaker's bio:
James T. (Tom) Faust has over forty years of public service as an Army officer and Civil Service officer. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1976 as a Distinguished Military Graduate and was commissioned as a Regular Army Military Intelligence officer. He also holds a Master’s of Science in Education from the University of Southern California and a Masters equivalent in National Security Strategy from the US Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania.
His twenty-six year military career included assignments in tactical and Special Operations units with combat deployments to Grenada (1983), Panama (1989), the first Gulf War (1990-1991), Mogadishu with Task Force Ranger in 1993, and the Balkans (1997). He commanded at the company level three times in Korea, a training battalion of the US Army Intelligence Center at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and the 525th Military Intelligence Brigade (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, North Caroline. His final assignment was as Director of Plans and Operations, Army G2 (Intelligence), The Army Staff, at the Pentagon where he was assigned on September 11, 2001. He led efforts to transition Army Military Intelligence from peace to war and retired from active duty in 2002.
