Pinghui Wu is a postdoctoral research fellow at Poverty Solutions. Her research interests are in employment dynamics, poverty and inequality, and the effects of labor market policies on disadvantaged workers. At Poverty Solutions, she engages in initiatives ranging from research projects examining the trend decline in U.S. male labor force participation, workforce development in the city of Detroit, to analysis on the Unemployment Insurance and workers' health behavior. Wu received a joint doctoral degree in economics and social work from the University of Michigan. She also holds master’s degrees in economics and social work from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from National Taiwan University.
