Paul N. Courant and Alexandra A. Killewald (PhD candidate) examine "grade inflation" using sociology, economics

December 16, 2009

An article, "Deflating the Grade Inflation Scare," published on Miller-McCune.com, describes grade trend research by Paul N. Courant and Alexandra A. Killewald (PhD candidate). Courant and Killewald's research, originally published in the Journal of Economic Perspectives, explores data trends in grades. The authors report what they describe as "interesting" results between the relative difference in grades between different fields of study and modest grade inflation.
