Matthew Davis quoted in ABC News story, “FDA May Ban Caffeine from Alcoholic Drinks”

Dr. Matthew Davis was quoted in an ABC News story about the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s expected ban of caffeine infused alcoholic beverages. A few states—including Michigan—have already banned these beverages, citing health and safety concerns.

"Though a lot of people are familiar with drinking a caffeinated beverage or an alcoholic beverage, few of them are familiar with drinking the combination," Davis told ABC News. "That combination is up to five beers at once in a single serving of a caffeinated alcoholic beverage and about the equivalent of one cup of coffee in terms of caffeine.
