Jeffrey Aronoff and Lisa Nuszkowski (both MPP '03) were selected as just two of forty-six 2011 American Marshall Memorial Fellows (MMF) by the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
This competitive program selects emerging leaders from across the United States to participate in a 24-day traveling program throughout Europe to learn about the political, economic, and social institutions and issues facing the United States and Europe.
Nuszkowski is a Senior Associate for Planning and Facilities in the Detroit Mayor's Office and a member of the Ford School's Alumni Board. Aronoff is a Principal at Miller Canfied and specializes in public finance, including municipal infrastructure finance, economic development finance, and school finance.
The Ford School did very well within the state of Michigan, with Aronoff and Nuszkowski representing half of the state's total 2011 American Marshall Memorial Fellows. They will join peers from 16 states and the District of Columbia. The MMF program was created in 1982 to educate emerging European and American leaders about the importance of a transatlantic relationship and to share best practices, especially relating to domestic and international policies.
