A research paper by Tommaso Pavone (BA '11) took first place in the 2011 Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) Undergraduate Research Paper Competition.
The ICPSR competition highlights exemplary research papers based on a quantitative social science analysis using an ICPSR dataset. Pavone, with his paper titled "Do More Parties Make for Happier Voters? Democratic satisfaction and representation across thirty-six democracies," is the first University of Michigan undergraduate student to win this national competition.
