Matthew Davis was quoted in a CBS Detroit article describing a new C.S. Mott Children's Hospital National Poll on Children's Health survey that asked adults to rate top health concerns for children.
Out of 23 different health concerns listed in the survey, childhood obesity ranked number one in the poll with 33 percent of adults indicating this was a "big problem." The rest of the top ten issues included drugs, smoking, teen pregnancy, bullying, Internet safety, stress, alcohol abuse, driving accidents, and sexting.
"The public understands and perceives the risks of new problems, such as sexting and stress as major issues for kids," Davis told WWJ Newsradio 950 in an interview. "These may be of even greater concern in the future as we've seen childhood obesity climb up the list in the last five years," he said.
