2012 Worldwide Ford School Spirit Day celebrations

July 18, 2012

From Dominick's in Ann Arbor to Sign Kasumigaseki in Tokyo, on July 12, 2012, Fordies around the world showed their school spirit as they celebrated President Ford's birthday—he would have been 99—and raised a glass in his honor. The second annual Worldwide Ford School Spirit Day was also an opportunity for alumni, current and incoming Ford School students, faculty, staff, and community members to gather and catch up, network, and share the latest school news. This year's alumni-organized event had an even greater turnout than last year's, with Spirit Day gatherings held in nearly a dozen locations around the country and overseas, including Ann Arbor, Lansing, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Tokyo, Boston, Washington, DC, Seattle, and San Francisco. Even alum Jonathan Shepard (MPP '09), on assignment with USAID, waved a Ford School pennant all the way from Baghdad.
