Olga (Savic) Stella makes Crain's Detroit Business "40 Under 40" list for 2011

February 10, 2012

Crain's Detroit Business has named Olga (Savic) Stella (MPP '99) to its annual "40 Under 40" list for 2011.

Stella, 35, directed the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation's Green Grocer Project, "which aims to create sustainable grocery business in the city while increasing residents' access to fresh food." She is also working to expand a sustainable real estate strategy that has enjoyed success in the city's Midtown district.

According to the author, "Along with the Green Grocer Project and the Detroit Smart Buildings effort, Stella names the Creative Corridor Incentive Fund as a program she sees as a chief accomplishment — and helping to create better relationships between Detroit businesses."

Stella spoke about the Green Grocer Project at the Ford School during a 2009 panel discussion titled, "The Role of Urban Food Retail in Detroit's Economic Development and Revitalization." See video of the panel discussion here.
