Helen Levy discusses proposed Detroit health insurance exchange program

September 12, 2013

Helen Levy spoke with Michigan Radio about how a new plan being considered by Detroit's Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr would affect some Detroit retirees. The plan would shift younger retirees, those under 65, to insurance exchanges under the Affordable Care Act.

"The exchange makes sure that the coverage that the plans are offering is good coverage," Levy explained to Michigan Radio. "It has to cover certain categories of service, and it has to provide financial protection. And that's really what you want in an insurance plan."
