Michigan Today article on Policy Talks @ the Ford School guests Ornstein and Mann

January 16, 2013

A new article in Michigan Today recounts the career paths of Norman Ornstein (PhD '74) and Thomas Mann (MA '68/PhD '77), who recently returned to the Ford School to discuss their book, It's Even Worse Than It Looks: How the American Constitutional System Collided With the New Politics of Extremism.

The article traces the professional careers of Ornstein and Mann from their student days at the University of Michigan to their work as political scientists with one foot in academia and one foot in Washington, DC. In 2012, the two co-authored It's Even Worse Than It Looks, which takes a sharp look at hyper-partisanship and dysfunction in Congress today.

Ornstein and Mann returned to the University of Michigan in November to discuss their book as part of the Ford School's Policy Talks series.
