From the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs
The Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) welcomed its new executive committee to office on June 1, 2013, with Dean Susan M. Collins of the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan assuming the role of APSIA president.
Collins has served as vice president for the past two years. Her area of expertise is international economics, including issues in both macroeconomics and trade. Her research interests center on determinants of economic growth in developed and developing economies, and issues raised by increasing cross-national economic integration. Dean Collins is currently also a nonresident senior fellow in the Economic Studies program at the Brookings Institution and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Collins began a term on the board of directors of the Detroit Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago on Jan. 1, 2013.
Dean Robert Hutchings of the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, Austin steps into the role of vice president. Before joining the LBJ School in March 2010, Dean Hutchings was Diplomat in Residence at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. Dean Hutchings' areas of expertise include European politics, global security studies, Transatlantic relations, Europe, and U.S. foreign policy.
Dean James Goldgeier of the School of International Service at American University assumes the role of secretary/treasurer. Prior to joining American University, he was a professor of political science and international affairs at George Washington University. Dean Goldgeier's areas of expertise include contemporary international relations, American foreign policy, U.S.-Russia relations, the European Union, transatlantic security and NATO.
The executive committee is also composed of three at-large members:

- Dean Kishore Mahbubani, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore
- Dean Ghassan Salame, Paris School of International Affairs, Sciences Po
APSIA extends its warmest gratitude to previous president Dean John Keeler of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh for his dedicated leadership of APSIA over the past four years as both president and vice president.
