Nadiya Kostyuk awarded Diplomacy and Diversity Fellowship by Humanity in Action

February 24, 2015

Nadiya Kostyuk, a doctoral candidate in the Ford School’s public policy and political science joint-PhD program, is one of two-dozen graduate students selected for the 2015 Diplomacy and Diversity Fellowship program. From May 29 through June 28, 2015, Kostyuk and other fellows will engage in an intensive training program on international relations and global diversity. The program will take place in three cities: Washington, DC, Berlin, and Paris.

The Diplomacy and Diversity Fellowship program is sponsored by Humanity in Action, an international nongovernmental organization that works to educate and inspire leaders with a commitment to human rights, diversity, and active citizenship. Since 1999, the organization has engaged more than 1,400 fellows in its transatlantic study programs.

“In each of the program cities—Washington, Berlin and Paris—the fellows will participate in an extremely demanding series of discussions and site visits to explore the different diplomatic approaches of each country, specifically on issues of diversity, democracy and pluralism,” says Anthony Chase, Humanity in Action’s director of programs.

According to the press release, the fellows “will explore these issues with experts at governmental agencies, international NGOs, universities, think tanks, and foreign policy organizations, with a focus on building skills, networks, and knowledge for foreign policy careers.”
