Susan Collins to interview Ben Bernanke at Economic Club of Grand Rapids dinner

May 3, 2016

At the annual dinner meeting of The Economic Club of Grand Rapids, Susan M. Collins will host a conversation with Ben Bernanke, who served as chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve System from 2006-2014. The event will take place on Tuesday, May 31 at DeVos Place.

During Bernanke’s tenure as chair of the Federal Reserve, Collins interviewed him for a Policy Talks @ the Ford School event at the University of Michigan. They discussed the debt ceiling, Federal Reserve policy and independence, and the U.S. and international economy. The event was widely covered by local, national, and international media outlets including CNN Money, Fox Business, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and more.

Susan M. Collins is a member of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, one of 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks that conduct the nation’s monetary policy and help to maintain a stable financial system. She is the Joan and Sanford Weill Dean of Public Policy at the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.
