Ford School welcomes 2019 PPIA Fellows

June 18, 2019

This month the Ford School welcomed 24 undergraduate students as part of the 2019 Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) fellows. Over the seven-week program, students take courses on microeconomics, statistics, and policy writing, along with modules on international policy, domestic policy, and monetary policy, and a GRE prep course. The students will visit the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Detroit Branch and will be traveling to Chicago to meet with representatives from the Government Accountability Office, the Congressional Budget Office, and attend a graduate school fair, among other activities

This year’s cohort is an impressive group of students from around the country who are pursuing a range of degrees. They have expressed interests in myriad policy areas, including education, immigration, international economics, housing, poverty, health policy, and more.

The Ford School has hosted this intensive program since 1981. Other summer institutes are hosted at Heinz College (Carnegie Mellon), the Goldman School (University of California, Berkeley), the Woodrow Wilson School (Princeton), and the Humphrey School (University of Minnesota).
