Rebecca A. Cohen

Senior Communications & Outreach Strategist, Office of Marketing & Communications

As a Ford School alum (MPP ‘09), Rebecca has 15 years of experience in strategic communication, public policy analysis and advocacy, and strategy development with the public, non-profit, and philanthropic sectors. Working with other departments, faculty, research centers, and other schools across campus, she aims to maximize the Ford School’s public position and reputation with prospective students, alumni, academic and policy communities, donors, foundations, and other audiences. She does this by advising and implementing internal and external communications and outreach strategy, and translating complex and rigorous research into stories of impact.

Prior to her current role, Rebecca served as vice president of Advocacy & Communication Solutions where she advised and empowered clients and partners to strategically and effectively communicate to accomplish their public policy and advocacy goals in service of children, families, and communities. Previously, she helped launch and set the research and policy agenda for the Workforce Intelligence Network of Southeast Michigan (WIN), a partnership of nine community colleges and seven workforce boards with a vision of supporting regional collaboration, prosperity, and employer-driven workforce strategies.

In addition to her master’s degree from the Ford School, Rebecca earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Case Western Reserve University.
