This course will provide students with a practical hands-on instruction in advanced data analysis techniques using Microsoft Excel. Given the widespread usage of Microsoft Excel in the workplace, the aim of the course is to enable students to become proficient in the professional use of the software application. Topics will include: analysis of normal, exponential, binomial, and Poisson random variables, analysis of variance, regression analysis, probability models, forecasting, Monte Carlo simulation, and macros. Students must have completed PubPol 529 or equivalent in order to enroll. Note: This course is a continuation of Public Policy 647 - Data Analysis using Excel I
