The Biden administration has put climate change, infrastructure investment and job growth as top agenda items, releasing strategies, making appointments and developing legislation with Congressional partners in these areas. Please join UMDC, the College of Engineering, the Ford School of Public Policy, and AAUM for an engaging discussion with U-M faculty experts Betsey Stevenson, Victor Li, and Volker Sick on the policies, technologies and economic impact of these recent initiatives.
From the speakers' bios
Professor Betsey Stevenson is an internationally recognized labor economist focused on the impact of public policy on outcomes in the labor market and the impact on families as labor markets change.
Professor Volker Sick leads the Global CO2 Initiative at U-M, which focuses on leading and accelerating the development and use of carbon capture technologies into commercially sustainable products that utilize 4Gt of CO2 per year.
Professor Victor Li directs the Center for Low Carbon Built Environment, which aims to reduce the built environment's carbon footprint by 50% by 2030, and invented engineered cementitious concrete, as an example of U-M developed technologies that may help reach market solutions for carbon capture and use.
