Barry Rabe interviewed on Marketplace Morning Report about the challenges Obama faces on climate change

May 6, 2014

"Attorney General Greg Abbot, perhaps the most likely person to be the next governor of Texas, routinely says, 'I wake up in the morning, I sue the federal government and then I go home,'" Barry Rabe told Sally Herships during a May 6 interview for Marketplace Morning Report.

The story, "I feel a climate change comin' on," discusses the difficulties President Obama is facing as he works to build support for carbon-dioxide emission regulations designed to slow climate change. "It's not uncommon," says Rabe, "for presidents, particularly when they move into their second term, to face growing difficulty working with Congress on major domestic legislation."

Barry Rabe is the J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Professor of Public Policy and the Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Environmental Policy. He is also director of the school's Center for Local, State, and Urban Policy and a non-resident senior fellow in governance studies at the DC-based Brookings Institution.
