Michigan Daily interviews Susan Collins on the value of dialogue about race and police brutality

December 16, 2014

Alyssa Brandon of The Michigan Daily interviewed Susan M. Collins for the December 16 story, “Ford School dialogue discusses race and police brutality.” The story was about the community dialogue hosted at the Ford School on Monday, December 15.

“Public Policy Dean Susan Collins, one of the event’s facilitators, said in an interview after the event that holding this discussion was especially important for Ford students because public policy is rooted in improving and addressing societal challenges,” wrote Brandon.

“’I think the issues we’re talking about are fundamental to society,’ Collins said. ‘They are very much ones public policy leaders need to understand and grapple with.’ Collins also said these issues need to be talked about within all communities at the University.”
