Elena Delbanco’s debut novel, The Silver Swan, published to rave reviews

May 26, 2015

“An enthralling tale about music and the passions it inspires,” writes Eugenia Zukerman of Elena Delbanco’s debut novel, The Silver Swan.

“Writing fiction about the world of classical musicians risks hitting wrong notes and making toes curl,” writes Zukerman in this Sunday’s Washington Post, “but Delbanco’s story in perfectly in tune.”

Zukerman lauds the book’s fast-paced plot, intriguing characters, and insights “into those who maintain and sell precious stringed instruments and those who live to play and own one.”

Delbanco, who ran the Ford School’s writing center for more than 25 years, will give a public reading from The Silver Swan at Nicola’s, an independent book store in Ann Arbor, on Tuesday, June 9 at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome.
