Ford School faculty members make Education Week list of most influential education scholars

January 7, 2015

Four University of Michigan scholars, including three Ford School faculty members, made Rick Hess’s Education Week ranking of the most influential U.S. scholars in education policy--those who contribute most substantially to public debates about education.

  • Deborah Ball, the William H. Payne Collegiate Professor of Education and dean of the School of Education;
  • David Cohen, the John Dewey Professor of Education and professor of public policy;
  • Susan Dynarski, professor of public policy and education; and
  • Brian Jacob, the Walter H. Annenberg Professor of Education Policy.

According to Hess, the annual ranking rubric "reflects both a scholar's body of academic work--encompassing the breadth and influence of their scholarship--and their footprint on the public discourse last year.”
