The Evolving Bargain Between Research Universities and Society --- The role of the university as both 'servant and critic' of society is one of constant reinvention. This class explores the overlapping and competing priorities and values that shape the continuing evolution of this "bargain." The class forms part of the 2017 Presidential Bicentennial Colloquia in the Future University.
