How to give

Give your way

No matter which way you choose, giving is easy!

Contact the Development Office to talk about your options. You can make a single, monthly recurring, or multi-year gift to the Ford School using a credit card or check.

Go online - Make a one-time gift online with a credit or debit card through the Michigan Giving website, or set up recurring monthly or quarterly gifts.

By mail - Please make checks payable to the University of Michigan. If known, please include the fund name and number in the memo line.

Please send your check or credit card gift and documentation to:

University of Michigan
Gifts & Records
3003 S. State St., Ste 9000
Ann Arbor, MI 48109-9231

Please talk to a member of the development team before sending your check, so our colleagues have all the information necessary to properly process your check.

Other ways to give

Talk to one of the Ford School staff if you want to explore one of the options below.

  • Matching gifts: Many employers will match gifts to the Ford School, doubling or tripling the impact of your gift. Please follow this link to search for your employer to determine if you are eligible.
  • Payroll deduction: U-M faculty and staff can now make gifts through payroll deduction by selecting the 'Monthly Payroll Deduction' payment method on the Michigan giving website during check-out.
  • Gifts of Stock and Securities: Gifts of publicly traded securities that have appreciated in value allow you to avoid capital gains taxes while also receiving a tax deduction for your gift.

Leave a lasting legacy

Planned gifts and endowments have tremendous power and leave a lasting legacy. Like savings, they're investments in the future and have a great impact for years to come.

Endowed funds provide a stable base of support for the school. Donors can create a named endowment fund with a minimum gift of $50,000. These funds are invested and managed for long-term growth through the University of Michigan Endowment.

If you're interested in learning more about estate and planned giving, please visit the University of Michigan Office of Planned Giving’s website for planned giving resources, or contact Sue Johnson ([email protected]) directly at the Ford School.
