Reilly is one of 175 college students recognized for their nonpartisan democratic engagement work in 2022.
Today, the University of Michigan and the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) announced that Ford School junior Rose Reilly (BA ‘24) has been recognized as part of the 2023 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll. The ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll awards college students doing outstanding work to advance nonpartisan democratic engagement at participating campuses. Reilly joins a group of 175 students recognized for their voter registration, education, and turnout efforts ahead of last year’s historic midterm elections. The 2022 midterm elections saw one of the highest youth turnout rates for a midterm election in the past 40 years —an estimated 23 percent of young people ages 18 to 29 turned out to vote.
Reilly is an influential member of Turn Up Turnout (TUT), a student-led, nonpartisan organization that increases voter registration and turnout for college students. Reilly spent the last election cycle as vice president for voter registration, overseeing more than 100 voter education events and building out the tri-campus effort in Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint. Reilly recently stepped into the role of TUT President.
Reilly also worked with the League of Women Voters on voter registration at Washtenaw County high schools. Reilly served as a Campus Vote Project Fellow where she talked to her peers about registering to vote, educated them on election laws and what’s on the ballot, and made sure students on campus were ready to engage with democracy.
“Rose has been an outstanding collaborative leader of Turn Up Turnout’s nonpartisan registration drives on campus and fully engaged in voter education and turnout efforts as well,” said Edie Goldenberg, TUT founder and professor emerita of public policy and political science. “She is quick, easy to work with, willing to take on any task, and extremely effective in her advocacy, which may explain why she was the unanimous choice for President of TUT and why she seamlessly stepped into the big shoes of her predecessors. Currently, Reilly sits on the 2022-2023 MI Collegiate Student Advisory Task Force as a representative for the University of Michigan. In this capacity, she advises the Michigan Secretary of State’s policy on student voting trends and policy and cultivates relationships with schools and stakeholders and creates connections between helpful resources and the schools that need them.

The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge empowers colleges and universities to achieve excellence in nonpartisan student democratic engagement. With the support of the ALL IN staff, campuses that join the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge complete a set of action items to institutionalize nonpartisan civic learning, political engagement and voter participation on their campus.
