John Chamberlin quoted in Free Press article about trial of former Highland Park manager

April 18, 2010
John Chamberlin spoke with the Detroit Free Press about ethical issues surrounding the upcoming trial of Arthur Blackwell II, charged with embezzling city funds as the former manager of Highland Park.

According to some, the state Treasury office did not provide enough oversight of Highland Park’s management. As a result of these allegations and Blackwell’s trial, the Treasury plans to implement new rules governing the power of emergency financial managers. "We pay people in Treasury to provide that oversight and they didn't," Chamberlin told the Free Press. "This ought to make people cautious for a good long while."
