Debra Horner is a staff member with the Ford School’s Center for Local, State, and Urban Policy (CLOSUP) where she is a Project Manager on the Michigan Public Policy Survey (MPPS) program. She attended Duke University for her undergraduate work and received her doctorate in Political Science from the University of Michigan in 2007. Debra has experience with survey research projects both in academia and the private sector. Her primary areas of research center on political attitudes and political participation with her dissertation research focusing on the concept of political interest and the different ways we can think about individuals' engagement in political processes. Her research at CLOSUP covers a wide variety of issues regarding state and local policy in Michigan and beyond. She will be teaching a course at the Ford School in the winter 2016 semester.
