Jessica Stern is a nationally recognized expert on the motivations and causes behind terrorist movements. She is the author of Terror in the Name of God: Why Religious Militants Kill , based on years of interviews with members of extremist organizations around the world. Professor Stern served on President Clinton's National Security Council in 1994 and 1995, worked as an analyst at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and was the Superterrorism Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. Professor Stern is currently on faculty at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
