This course presents a framework for decision-making in public policy. Students will develop: 1) the ability to formulate quantitative models from real world situations that arise frequently in the policy arena, and 2) familiarity with quantitative spreadsheet techniques for analyzing these models. These techniques include optimization via linear and nonlinear programming, queuing theory, time series forecasting, decision trees, game theory, and Mote Carlo simulations.
