Politics of International Public Policy is a course designed to immerse students into the complexities of international public policy-making. Central to the course is an exploration of international security issues, defined broadly. Students will gain an understanding of how national and regional peculiarities influence political cultures, governing institutions, the landscape of stakeholders, and the strategies they employ in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. The course curriculum is structured around core concepts in foreign policy, with a special emphasis on contemporary debates surrounding international security. Topics such as interstate wars, civil wars and interventions, peacekeeping efforts, and unconstitutional changes of government are critically examined through practical case studies. This foundation will enable students to develop effective tools for informing and influencing policy decisions in a diverse and constantly changing world order.
