Fall 2008
Credit Hours

This seminar develops a framework for crafting intelligent affordable housing strategies, developed within the context of a broader community development perspective. The course will begin by investigating several key goals of policy and planning in the low-income housing field, including affordability, livability, equity, and participation. In the process, we will review several important eras in housing and community development history in order to understand how the goals of low-income housing have evolved over time. The second half of the course will then apply these ideas to several current debates about the nation's affordable housing agenda.
