Instructor: Dr. Gail Wilensky, economist and senior fellow at Project HOPE, an international health foundation.

This course provides a sophisticated overview of health care in the United States, including public policy related to the ways in which people receive and pay for health care, the major programs that make up the financing and delivery of health care, as well as current and future challenges to the current health care system, including health insurance. The course is designed and offered from the perspective of an economist who as been both an analyst of health policy and a high-level administrator/policymaker at the federal level. The course material does not assume prior economic knowledge although some exposure to economics or other type of social science analysis is preferred.
