Sam Geller, MPP '17
City of Detroit
Budget Analyst

Sam is a budget analyst with the City of Detroit Office of Budget. Geller provides fiscal analysis and program evaluation to a wide range of city departments and agencies. Prior to this role, Geller worked for numerous nonprofit organizations in Massachusetts and served as a finance staffer on political campaigns for U.S. congressional, governor and city council races. In 2017, Geller served as the Riecker Michigan Delegation Fellow with U.S. Senator Gary Peters (D-MI).

Kelsey Kennedy, MPP '15
U.S. Government Accountability Office
Senior Analyst 

Kelsey is a senior analyst at the U.S. Government Accountability Office. She currently works on GAO’s Natural Resources and Environment team, and she has also worked on the Health Care, Physical Infrastructure, and Education/Workforce/Income teams. Kelsey serves on GAO’s Diversity Advisory Council and would love to talk to you about GAO’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. She is also involved in GAO’s work to reduce or manage duplication, overlap, and fragmentation in the federal government. Before joining GAO, Kelsey graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 2010 and an MPP from the Ford School in 2015. She completed her Ford School internship at GAO. Kelsey also served in the Peace Corps in Peru from 2010 to 2012.

Transfer Pricing Consultant 

Timothy graduated from the Dresden University of Technology, Germany with a degree in international relations and a minor in economics. He is passionate about the economics of energy transitions worldwide, climate change and tax policy. He interned with the World Bank and the German Development Bank “KfW” during his graduate studies at UM. Since 2019, he works in the Transfer Pricing Department at Deloitte Tax LLP in Chicago, Illinois on transfer pricing compliance and tax controversy projects serving multinational corporations.
