Join us as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of Gerald R. Ford being the sole person to serve as president without being elected as president or vice president.

President Ford wasn’t only special for his unprecedented journey to office. While he made history on August 9, 1974, he was more than a footnote in the book of political firsts.

Three witnesses to Ford’s incredible work as president will share their memories of that historic day, and the ways they saw Gerald R. Ford making a positive difference in our world. Mike and Steve Ford, the president’s sons, had a front seat to their father’s work. Carla Hills, only the third woman to serve in a presidential cabinet, served as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under Ford and was a keen observer of his leadership, compassion, and work ethic.
