16th annual Worldwide Ford School Spirit Day

Date & time

Jul 9, 2026, All Day

Each July, our Ford School community of alums, students, faculty, staff, and friends around the world gathers around the time of President Ford's birthday to socialize, network, and most importantly, celebrate what binds us together: our shared experiences and the friendships that continue to connect us.

Whether it was classes in Lorch Hall, problem sets in Weill Hall, or policy conversations that continued long after class, Ford School memories are made in the community. You may have traveled to Washington, DC, attended the charity auction, relaxed at Dominick's, worked through a group project, or joined a student organization. However you spent your days here, it was shaped by the Fordies who learned, laughed, debated, supported, and celebrated with you along the way.

Wherever you are in the world this July 9th, let's embrace the spirit of Fordie friendship and fellowship! Here are some ways you can participate:

  • Attend an in-person gathering in Ann Arbor, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto, or Washington, DC. RSVP by July 7. (Details below.) Enjoy refreshments and snag Ford School swag, too. Don't see a gathering where you are located? Reach out to [email protected] to coordinate one in your city!
  • Wear your best Ford School and/or maize and blue gear. Make sure to wear it at an in-person gathering! Need some new Ford School gear? Order from our online Spirit Store and wear it on July 9th.
  • Mark the occasion on social media by posting photos of your gathering using #fordspirit and tagging @FordSchool.
